A Nice Little Saturday…

Today Amanda & I ventured alllll the way down to South Street Seaport. Thanks to “train traffic,” our trip was much longer than it should have been. Although it wasn’t the nicest day outside, it was still neat to see one of the city’s most historic districts. Farther east than the Financial District, South Street was the original port for NYC. The district now covers twelve blocks, packed full of shops and vendors. I think there are concerts and events there too, in the summer. We passed a bunch of quaint seafood restaurants with outdoor tables that I’m sure are packed in nice weather. Down by the water there are some great views of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Bridge — a fantastic date spot that I’m going to keep in mind. We just walked around, browsed some shops, and took a picture or two with some friendly Europeans. To round out our little day, we shared some corn dogs and fries from Papaya Dog: the ultimate end to any adventure.
