About

I started this blog two years ago, when I moved to NYC with lots of ambition, a little money, and no job. While I’ve survived a few rites of passage (14 days notice that I was getting kicked out of my apartment; discovering Christmas has become bittersweet because of Rock Center), I’m still struggling with the details (how do you say Ronkonkoma without laughing?).

    Luv luv luv your blog!
I’m a writer moving to NYC in December, so I love reading about someone wanting to pursue their dream in the big city as well. I’m looking forward to reading your posts. Did you find a place to stay before you moved there or stayed in a hotel first?

    • I did the financially irresponsible thing and signed a lease for an apartment before I got a job. It was a pretty stressful summer, but I landed a job about 2 weeks after I moved in. So go for it!!

Hi! Found you on 20sbloggers and thought your blog title was interesting!

Anyway, I moved to NYC for school around 8 years ago and never looked back! It’s pretty crazy at times but there is nothing like it!

If you ever want any tips on where to eat/shop/go, let me know! check out my blog – it’s pretty foodcentric and I post often about foodie events in and around the city!

  4. Hi! Just randomly discovered your blog and I love it! Glad that after two years you are still a New Yorker. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m actually a Faux Yorker (from the burbs) who moved to Chicago this year, and I started a similar project. Would love to trade links and tipsโ€”I’m at blog5b dot com. Good luck and keep discovering things to love (and kvetch about) in the most amazing city in the world!
